Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 2026
At AI Essays Detector (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we understand that academic integrity and the privacy of your unpublished work are deeply important. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how we use it, and—most importantly—what we do not do with your data.
1. We Do Not Store Your Essays
The core function of AI Essays Detector is to analyze the text you paste into our tool. We want to be absolutely clear: we do not save, store, or publish the text you analyze.
- When you click “Analyze,” your text is processed temporarily in our server’s memory solely to calculate perplexity, burstiness, and AI likelihood scores.
- Once the analysis is complete and the results are returned to your screen, the text is immediately discarded.
- Your essays are never added to any database, nor are they used to train AI models. Your work remains yours.
2. Information We Collect
We believe in minimal data collection. Because you do not need to create an account to use our free detector, we collect very little personal information.
Usage Data & Analytics
To keep the site running efficiently and understand how many students use our tool, we use privacy-focused analytics (such as Cloudflare Analytics or Matomo). We deliberately do not use Google Analytics to ensure a higher standard of user privacy. The data we collect may include:
- Anonymized IP addresses
- Browser types and device information (e.g., mobile vs. desktop)
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
This information is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use essential cookies to ensure the basic functionality of the website, such as preventing rate-limit abuse (e.g., stopping bots from spamming the detector tool). We do not use third-party tracking cookies for targeted advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect the tool’s performance.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or your inputted text to third parties under any circumstances. We may only disclose aggregated, anonymized usage data (like “1 million students used our tool this semester”) for marketing or reporting purposes.
5. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to related academic tools (such as aipdfnotes.com). If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites operate under their own privacy policies, and we strongly advise you to review them.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time as our tool evolves or regulations change. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
